Mold Town Council has recognised the demand from young people for the provision of a skateboard park and has set aside £15,000 towards the cost involved in providing a wheeled play facility in the Town.

It is understood that the provision of such a facility needs to reflect the desires and aspirations of those people for whom it is intended and with the help of the County Youth and Leisure Services a group of young people met to determine what is needed. These ideas were included within a scheme for a facility to be sited at Kendricks Field (off Ruthin Road and Maes Bodlonfa recreation ground).

Planners however, felt that this site was inappropriate for this proposal and permission was refused. Further thought is now needed to determine what can be done to provide a skateboard park.
