Mold Town Council Signs the Civility and Respect P
Mold Town Council is pleased to announce that it has officially signed the Civility and Respect Pledge, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of conduct in local government.
The Civility and Respect Pledge is a national initiative led by the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC), the National Association of Local Councils (NALC), One Voice Wales and County Associations. The pledge encourages councils to promote respectful, professional and inclusive working relationships, ensuring everyone involved in local government is treated with courtesy, dignity and respect.
By signing the pledge, Mold Town Council is committing to:
- Promoting respectful and constructive communication.
- Supporting the wellbeing of councillors, employees and volunteers.
- Challenging bullying, harassment and intimidation wherever it occurs.
- Encouraging positive behaviours that strengthen local democracy.
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for residents, partners and visitors.
The Council recognises that respectful behaviour is fundamental to effective decision-making and good governance. By fostering a culture of civility and professionalism, the Council aims to create an environment where councillors, staff and members of the public can engage positively and work together in the best interests of the community.
Councillor Joanne Edwards, Mayor of Mold, said:
"Signing the Civility and Respect Pledge demonstrates Mold Town Council's commitment to promoting kindness, professionalism and mutual respect in everything we do. By working together in a positive and constructive way, we can continue to provide the best possible service for our community."
Mold Town Council is proud to support this important initiative and looks forward to continuing to promote a respectful and inclusive culture for everyone who works with, or engages with, the Council.
